Tomatoe & Onion Sandwich

by Pooja 17. April 2008 05:14

This is classic receipe in our house. This is one of my favorite snack Receipe because it very tasty, quick and Spicy :)

Ingredients:

  • 1 Finely Chopped Tomatoe
  • 1 Finely Chopped Onion
  • Salt
  • 1/2 t sp. Chilli Powder
  • 1/2 t sp. Garam Masala
  • 1/2 t sp. Cumin Powder
  • 1/2 t sp. Chaat Masala
  • Fresh Coriander  Chopped
  • Wheat Bread 8 Slices

Direction:

Mix all ingredients in bowl nicely except Bread. If possible try to mash it with hand. Please do not grind it. Spread this masala/mixture over one bread Slice and cover it with another slice and cook it in Sandwich Maker. If you don't have Sandwich Maker, Heat Skillet, add little oil if needed and cook sandwich on it. Turn sandwich after 1 minute and cook another side. If you want it dark and toasty, keep thali/plate over sanwich and keep some heavy box/pressure cooker over plate/thali while sandwich is on Skillet/Tava. Usually Sandwich maker does a good job and its pretty inexpensive. I bought few years back for $10 or so from Target.

Sweet & Creamy French Toast

by Pooja 7. April 2008 07:13

I learned this recipe few weeks back and since this is on our breakfast menu every Weekend. Its addictive and yummy, so be cautious :)

Ingredients:

  • Jam(I prefer organic apricot)
  • Plain Cream Cheese  at room remperature(low fat will work too)
  • Wheat Bread(at least something is healthy)
  • Egg
  • Salt
  • Little Seasonings(Black pepper or cinnamon powder)

Its a french toast with tasty filling inside. First we need to break some egg to coat breads, add some salt and seasonings to it, mix it thoroughly and keep it aside. Now in small bowl add 2 spoons of Jam and 2 spoons of Cream Cheese, mix it will. don't worry if u have little lumps. we are not trying to make paste, just mix as much as you can. Take a slice of bread, speard Jam/Cream Cheese filling on it, cover it with another piece of bread. Hold carefully and gently roll in egg mixture. Finally cook them on skillet till egg coating is done. I promise it won't take more then fifteen minutes next time.

 Cheers,
