Chapatti/Indian Flat Bread

Ingredients

  • Whole wheat Flour - 1 1/2 Cup
  • Salt
  • Oil 3 tea spoon
  • warm water 1/2 or 1 Cup
  • Whole wheat flour 1/2 cup on the side to roll up chapatti

Direction

  • Add Flour and salt in big deep bowl, mix it well .
  • Add Oil and mix it again, make sure there are no lumps in Flour.
  • Add water and knead it well to make soft dough.
  • Make portion of dough into a small ping-pong size balls.
  • Roll each ball in your palm and press into a small flat circle
  • Now use Extra flour and coat this small circle with flour on both sides. don't put too much flour.
  • Using rolling pin roll out each circle into flat disc like tortilla.
  • When ready heat tava or skillet on medium heat.
  • Place a rolled chapatti on heated skillet and tava.
  • When bubbles starts to appear flip chapatti over.
  • after 10-15 seconds flip it over again. 
  • Now slowly start press bubbles lightly with clean cloth until Chapatti rises up like Ballon.
